Georgien Volunteer Sleeve Shield 2nd Pattern
This is an unissued Georgien Volunteer Sleeve Shield. Volunteers from Georgia in southwest Russia formed one of the “Ostlegionen,” units of men from the Soviet Union who volunteered to fight alongside the German armed forces on the Eastern Front. The Georgian Legion was formed in December 1941, and its members wore this shield on the sleeves of their uniforms. This Georgien Volunteer Sleeve Shield is the second, printed pattern
